Alexander Brady Verdugo is a professional baseball player of Mexican-American descent, currently competing as an outfielder for the New York Yankees in Major League Baseball (MLB). Hailing from Tucson, Arizona, he was born on May 15, 1996, to his Mexican father Joe Verdugo, and his American mother Shelly Verdugo. In his hometown, he completed his high school education at Sahuaro High School.

Before joining the Yankees, Alex initiated his professional career with the Los Angeles Dodgers, originally planning to represent Arizona State University at the collegiate level. In 2017, he made his MLB debut as a center fielder for the Dodgers in a game against the San Diego Padres. Following his four-year stint with the Dodgers, Alex was drafted to the Boston Red Sox, where he played from 2020 to 2023 before transitioning to the Yankees.
